BrainStorm was setup in 1993 as an experiment in
providing personal computer products and services in new ways at lower cost. We
operate a Windows 2000 Server system at the Sydenham office with remote workers
linking in by remote access.
The organisation of BrainStorm combines the theory of
the 'Flexible Firm' (cf Changing Work Patterns by Atkinson & Meager) with
advances in IT and communications to distribute how and where work is done.
This allows us to approach the ideal of the 'zero-overhead' company. It lowers
risk and enables us to work with the finest people around the world to innovate
new products and services for our clients.
Some of our clients use the technology and services to
enhance their own business - and our success depends on theirs - whilst we have
also developed our own unique chaemeleon character providing services which are
marketed through other companies with their own branding.
